Norbert Sprenger, PhD Current position : Senior Research Scientist – Expert Glycobiology at the Nestlé Research Center, Lausanne, Switzerland After a PhD at the University of Basel (Switzerland) followed by academic research at the Universities of Zurich (Switzerland) and Stanford (USA), I dedicated the last 17 years to applied industrial research at the Nestlé Research Center (Switzerland). This lead to major product innovations related to milk oligosaccharides for infant nutrition. ‘Learning from nature’ through the study of the biology of milk oligosaccharides for infant nutrition and health, I aim to understand how dietary glycans may affect development and health for nutritional applications. This primarily through their effects on host microbe interactions for protection from infection related illnesses and as conditional nutrients. I authored >29 peer reviewed publications (h-index 22) and am an inventor of >30 patent applications
